House Reflooring 2022

Here we go with the next major home improvement project! Lou has wanted the first floor of the house redone in hardwood flooring. Hardwood is more expensive though and had other drawbacks we didn’t want to deal with (moisture damage issues, etc.), so we opted for vinyl instead.

Painting and other “inspection” (Gutters)

Today was home fixer upper day. Lou has been wanting to paint the garage doors. I’ve been wanting to clear out the roof gutters where plants have sprouted because of the pigeons roosting on the gutters and dirt/crap settling. I pulled out the 22′ roof ladder to see if it will reach, and it does. So I started to climb up to see what I can clean out.…

Mom’s house project

Mom has been wanting to have sidewalks built on both sides of her house, especially since grass on each side doesn’t grow well (not enough sunlight underneath the overhang). Today Tony Galang (Arthur’s brother) and his crew came over to start the prep and initial digging. I had to go over with boltcutters to cut off the rusted padlock on her back gate.…

Built Out the Lanai and Garage Extension

We’d been talking about extending the back porch into a small lanai for some time now, because it just wasn’t enough room from the rain when we smoke. As the contemplating went on, I also decided I need a 3rd car garage to get my truck off the street.
