Did someone yell sling arms?
I haven’t heard that command since basic training. That didn’t stop me from executing it, so to speak… Yep, arm’s in a sling alright!!! Thanks to rotator cup surgery….

I often think of many things in life that we all take for granted. This surgery has widened my view of those things we never think about because it’s just there, it just happens.

How ambidextrous are you?
Has the typical person truly tested him/herself as to how well either hand can do the same tasks in day-to-day activities? And I mean finding out one’s ambidextrous abilities well beyond whether they can bat from either side of the plate, shoot left and right handed, and hold the fork during a meal.

Painkillers paint the mood
Since the surgery I’ve been on either Oxycodone or Morphine per doctor’s recommendation to “stay ahead” of the pain instead of chasing it… meaning don’t wait to feel pain before taking the meds, but take them by the clock so that I won’t feel much pain. Okay, that tells me that it must be an excruciating level of discomfort if not for these prescribed narcotics.…

Rotator Cuff surgery (1st one)
Today was surgery day on my left shoulder Lou and I got to the hospital at about 7:45am…. I didn’t get called in for prep until almost 10am. I got into a room, they did pre-checks of my vitals, I changed into a gown, got a saline IV started, etc.. Lou got hungry so I told her to go ahead and leave, and they’d call her when I was out of recovery.…
