I got Lou tickets for two, as a Christmas present, to Blue Note Hawaii to see WAR perform. So we went this evening. Lina and Jon dropped us off and then picked us up. It was nice, and we enjoyed the music and performance! It was a sold out 6:30pm performance so we were packed. But comfortable. Now we’ve seen … Continue Reading “WAR onstage at Blue Note Hawaii”
Lou, Jon, Lina and I went to the Bruno Mars concert, the third concert, last night at the Aloha Stadium. We drove to LCC and then caught the shuttle bus to the stadium and then back. Common Kings opened, followed by The Green. Now, me, I’m not a Bruno Mars follower. But there really is something to be said about… Continue Reading “Bruno Mars at Aloha Stadium”
]Def Leppard performed at the Blaisdell last night after 35 years…. had to catch this one! And we had tickets to go! Lou, me, Lina and Jon went. We got pretty good seats. Awesome!
A few video clips of the night’s enjoyment (YT playlist).… Continue Reading “Def Leppard in Town”
This evening was the Santana concert we bought tickets for… me, Lina, and Noel. We left the house at about 6pm, ate dinner at Jack in the Box in Kunia, then headed down. Parking at the Blasidell was full so we had to circle and then finally parked at McKinley HS in the back grass lot on the other side of the fence… Continue Reading “Santana Concert”
Blaisdell Arena last night. I took leave so that I could go to the War/Doobie Brothers concert with Lou and Noel. Good concert too tho I wasn’t all into them, but still good!
This was at the Blaisdell Arena, with Arnel Pineda in the band as lead vocals. Their new front man is very energetic.
Lou and I caught the Earth, Wind & Fire Concert concert when the came to town last night (May 27). EWF is another one of those groups whose music is tightly intertwined in our history/relationship. Too bad tho, Don Myrick is not in this tour (RIP Don).
Lou, Peaches, Noel and I caught the 70s Soul Jam concert tonight. Wow, so many memories and flashbacks. And, so many of those flashbacks were of Lou and me during our teenage days together. Let’s see, who were the features… Main Ingredient; Harold Melvin Bluenotes; The Three Degrees; The Delphonics;… Continue Reading “70’s Soul Jam Concert”
Yesterday was the first day in about 40 days that it wasn’t raining. And right on time because today was the “first one since the late 1970s” Diamondhead Crater concert featuring Yvonne Elliman, Linda Ronstadt, War, and Steve Miller Band. I mention this because Lou, Lina and I went to it.… Continue Reading “Diamond Head Crater Concert”
Journey came to town and Lina and I went to go see them at the Blaisdell Arena last night. Daniel Poblete came with us. This was when Steve Augeri was the lead singer (I called him the Steve Perry lookalike replacement).
