President George H.W. Bush

President George H. W. Bush, 41st President of the united States, died on Nov 30, 2018.

I was in uniform when he was Vice President, and then elected President. That was the era of the Panama invasion and the Gulf War (Desert shield/Desert Storm). He was at the helm for both. He, as of today, was the last of the war hero presidents who served on active duty, and he saw combat. Having served in uniform had been one of my litmus test kinds of acceptance of a new president. I didn’t like having a Commander-in-Chief who never wore the uniform and actively served. Mr. Bush was one of those who I gave the thumbs up to in this regard.

I think since his presidency, there hasn’t really been another president who served the administration with the old school level of decency, integrity, honesty, and care for our nation.

Rest in peace Mr. President.
