I know it’s wrong, it’s bad, to laugh, make light and even dismiss other people’s misfortune and sometimes even death. But many times on Hawaii beaches, tourists do the stupidest things not understanding or respecting the power of the surf and putting themselves in harm’s way. When we have out of town (and particularly non-islander) house guests, we humorously, but seriously, tell them not to do anything to become statistics.
And so when I saw someone post this clip on social media, I thought it was a perfect example of what Lou and I shake our heads about.
