Registered members who haven’t logged in since October or earlier…

I cleaned up the member database because it was growing real huge and mostly with one-time login users who never came back, and some who haven’t been on the site for a long time. If you got deleted and want to get back in, just register again.

Resource usage has gone down and stabilized since I got ride of some other “web junk” leftovers in my hosted account. We’ll see what my next month’s billing looks like. I don’t really want to take this blog homefront down unless I have to since I’d then have to install some other kind of login system… so that the music library isn’t open to the web without any sort of check-in.
My Blog is coming down – maybe going to wordpress.com
by Royce on Jan.02, 2012, under Admin/Site Stuff
If anybody out there in the vastness of the web even gives a rat’s holler, I’m going to take down this blog. Seems ever since I dropped the now long gone www.13n144e.com PhP-Fusion site and installed/brought up this WordPress system, I’ve been getting a lot of “site unreachable” notices from a web site monitor I use to check on this and a couple of other personally run sites..
I believe it’s because WordPress is a resource hog when it comes to running it on a web server, much less a shared hosting plan server. I then upgraded to a VPS account so I could have dedicated resources, but now I pay for what I use and holy crap I ain’t gonna pay every month for what I’ve seen ever since I went to VPS hosting!!!
Let me be clear (oh yeah a patented Obama phrase!!) that it’s not just this one installation of WordPress that’s doing it. I’m running multiple installations for several different interests, with a database for each on the backend of them, all on one account.
I’m probably going to sign up for a wordpress.com account and export this site to the other.. and live with whatever features I lose in going to a free service. Oh well…
At any rate, let’s see if I can move everything transparently. If not, you’ll know why if you come here and the site is down.
Outside opinions in one’s relationship
by Royce on Dec.26, 2011, under Life's Perceptions
I was just reading some tabloid trash kind of page linked off of msn.com about Maria Shriver possibly thinking twice about divorcing Arnold Swarzenegger (if you don’t know what their deal is, then you don’t need to read this because you’re not much for Hollywood tabloid stuff anyway). The article mentioned her Catholic upbringing and how the church frowns on divorce. The story then asked readers what they think (about Maria possibly forgiving Arnold).
Now, while I normally just passively read all this gossipy crap, I did give pause to that question. It brought back thoughts I had years ago about cheating wives (and/or husbands as the case may be) back in my military days and how fellow soldiers would say shit like “man if that was my wife I’d divorce the bitch”… you know how the guys would talk when one guy is going thru a crisis with his wife being unfaithful. Again, this is easily on the other foot so the circumstance I’m exampling is simply the scenario I had.
Anyway, so easy to say that when:
(1) you’re on the outside of the relationship looking in merely as an unaffected observer.
(2) you don’t have a strong, meaningful, longtime nurtured marriage or relationship on which to draw upon to make such critical decisions.
(3) you live based on guidance from ego as the predominant “face” of your life
In the final analysis, who cares what the reader thinks (referring back to that story I was reading)? The only two people whose opinion counts is Maria’s and Arnold’s. The only two people who have to live with a decision to split or stay together are the two people involved. and the only people “wrong” in whatever decision is made are the outside observers who think they know what’s best for others when it comes to terms of endearment.
‘Tis the season 2011

Two things jump out at a person signaling the start of the Christmas holidays. One is when you find yourself eating leftover turkey, turkey soup, turkey sandwiches, turkey casserole, etc., which obviously indicates the days after Thanksgiving and into December when the family is trying desperately to finish all the leftover turkey! the second is when all the stored Christmas ornaments and lights have to come out and days must be reserved for putting up decorations and the lights.
I have a hard time getting started every year. My primary task is the outside and yard lights and decorations. Lou and the girls do the tree and the inside stuff, which Imput up the yard ornaments and porch lights. I never look forward to it initially, because one of the things that irk me all to hell is putting up lights that all worked when I first unrolled the strand and plugged them in to test, but once tacked, stapled, or otherwise hung up and then re-plugged in they don’t work… or some bulbs don’t work… or the multi-sectioned lights have certain portions that don’t light. I come so close into going into a bah-humbug rage when that happens!!
Luckily, however, Lou frequently checks out the post-Christmas sales when lights and other decorations are so cheap. We have a few boxes of 2-3 year old, still brand new lights in many strand lengths. So at least when one strand acts up, I can rip it out and get a new replacement without having to peel out speeding to Wal-Mart or other store to go find more lights.
Once I’ve started, however, I go from being grumpy about having to inventory all the lights, ornaments and yard decorations, various extension cords and power adapters, timers, etc., to eager anticipation of how I’m going to lay out the decorations and the power them all off of one timed system. By the time the initial plan is thought through I’m gung ho don’t-get-in-my-way mode ’till completion. I almost want to go the whole 9-yards and do the roof and second floor overhang, but Lou insists that’s overkill… which it is. But hon, we have more than enough lights!!! And after it’s all done, I’m tired, my knees and ankles hurt from going up and down the ladder, I’m sweaty at least 4 times over, but it feels good as soon as I test my work and plug it all in come evening.
Then… I look across the street and Mom’s house now needs the same TLC for yard decorating this year!! And so the process starts all over again….
