About

(Yeah okay, no shit, if this really was my rearview mirror I’d be flying down the wrong side of Marine Drive…)
… MY BLOG
That’s what it is, a blog. Well, maybe more like a journal, but with more than just journal entries. I have photo galleries in the pulldown menu bar item “MEDIA”. My Chamorro music page is also on here now. see the very top list of pages.
Guam in the distance. I settled on that blog name because no matter where the family and I are, no matter how detached life seems to be from my true home, Guam is always off in the distance in my mind – but never, ever out of sight or reach.
Circa October 2005
I’ve been avoiding the blog wave for years now – I’ve never been fascinated by it. But I’m a 4-5 time attempted journaler. My first journal was when I was 17 using a logbook that came as free junk when Mom bought her ’77 Celica from Atkins Kroll. The second time was when I was in Korea, kind of a way to pass and document the year away from the wife and kids. When I went to ANCOC in ’91 I started a journal to track that adventure. I tried again in 92 when we lived on Wheeler AFB and again in the late 90′s when we were in AMR. Each time my journals lasted 3-4 months tops. I got bored with it and the commitment to make a daily entry became tedious.
April 2010
I am slowly transitioning my 13n144e.com web site to this blog system. Hopefully I’ll be able to lay it out so it makes sense. Time to get away from the Content Management system (CMS) I’ve been using on the other site and just tie everything into this blog to keep it simple to manage. Plus.. well the forums on the other site are pretty much unused these days. Anyway, here we go…
Also, if you do decide to register and check out the site, there are blog and page sections restricted to FAMILY, FRIENDS, and WORK categories. Post a blog entry “shoutout” in the ‘Admin/Main’ category area and I’ll add you to appropriate categories.
